PNG to JPG Converter Tutorial

The **PNG to JPG** tool is a fast, client-side utility that converts Portable Network Graphics (PNG) into JPEG format. Unlike standard converters, this tool intelligently handles **transparent backgrounds** by filling them with white instead of turning them black.

1. Upload Your PNG File(s)

Select one or more PNG images from your device. This tool runs entirely in your browser, ensuring your photos are never uploaded to a server.

Upload Options:

  • Select Files: Click the "Select Files" button to choose images from your computer.
  • Drag and Drop: Drag your PNG files directly into the dashed upload zone.
  • File Limits: You can upload files up to **25MB** in size.

Valid PNG files will appear in the preview grid immediately after selection.

2. Start the Conversion

The tool processes your images using the HTML5 Canvas API to ensure high-quality conversion.

Conversion Details:

  • Click the **"Convert All to JPG"** button to begin.
  • The system creates a white canvas and draws your PNG on top to handle transparency correctly.
  • The image is re-encoded as a JPG with 95% quality.

A progress bar will indicate the status of the batch processing.

3. Preview and Download

Once the conversion finishes, your new JPG files are ready for download.

Saving Your Files:

  • Each converted item in the grid will show a **"Download"** button.
  • Click the button to save the file immediately to your device.
  • You can use the **"Clear"** button to remove all files and start a new batch.

The file extension is automatically changed from `.png` to `.jpg`.

Why Convert PNG to JPG?

Converting a PNG to a JPG is often beneficial for:

  • Reduced File Size: JPGs are compressed and typically much smaller than PNGs, making them faster to load on websites.
  • Removing Transparency: Some platforms do not support transparency; converting to JPG fills the background with a solid color (white).
  • Photography: JPG is the standard format for photographs due to its efficient color compression.
