Image to Text (OCR) Tutorial: Extract & Copy

The Image to Text (OCR) tool allows you to convert images containing text into editable digital text. This is perfect for extracting quotes from pictures, digitizing scanned documents, or grabbing text from screenshots.

1. Upload Your Image

To begin, you need to provide the image you want to process:

Upload Options:

  • Click Upload: Click the "Upload Image" button to browse your files.
  • Drag and Drop: Simply drag the image file and drop it into the designated area.

Ensure your image is clear and the text is legible for the best results.

2. Start Extraction

Once your image is uploaded:

  • Click the "Convert to Text" (or "Extract") button.
  • The tool will process the image using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology.
  • This process usually takes only a few seconds, depending on the complexity of the image.

3. Copy or Download Text

After processing is complete, the extracted text will appear in a text box:

  • Review: Check the text for any minor errors (common with handwritten or low-quality images).
  • Copy: Click the "Copy" button to copy the text to your clipboard.
  • Download: Click "Download .txt" to save it as a text file on your device.

Tips for Best Results

  • Lighting: Ensure the photo is well-lit and devoid of heavy shadows.
  • Orientation: Use the rotation tools if the image is upside down or sideways before extracting.
